proportion...4/3/2009

Angel Gonzalez

Aim: how ho we solve proportions by using cross products?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) how the term cross product can help remember how to solve a proportion.

You can look at the ratio that is given to you for example in geometry. Use the ratio and make that the denominator of the proportion and cross multiply

2. whats wrong with number 2 is that he divided 2 by 36 and got 18 which was wrong thats what he got wrong.

3. you can find out if its a proportion if you cross multiply 6 2
---- = ----
45 15

and the answer is 90=90 that means its a proportion and if the numbers are not the same than its not proportional.
